The Question...

After having spent about an hour or more at AMOEBA, my younger brother and I were faced with the most difficult question which, I'm sure all of u must have encountered 'n' number of times. It is the question that puts most of us in an awkward position. I've been in that position so many times that I don't feel awkward anymore. ;-)
the question I'm talking about is - "where shall we have the dinner tonight??"
though there is nothing special about it, I can clearly recollect instances in which we had to spend almost an entire hour deciding on the venue for dinner/lunch. As expected we usually land up in a place we tried to avoid and end up eating the same old stuff that we eat every day.

yeah, for people who go out occasionally this is a very easy decision to make, but not for people like me. cos for me its always the 'been there done that' scenario when it comes to restaurants. The main reason for the dilemma can be attributed to the number of choices in front of us. U want Chinese??? gr8, but where? Mainland China?? or Aromas of China?? maybe Chungs?? why not Chung Wah?? heard food at Green Onion is cheap.. arrggghhhh!!!! the list is endless.

Another reason I recently discovered (in one of the few blogs I read) is our inability to be 'specific' in whatever we want at the given moment. Pretty true huh??? Wouldn't it be bhonderful if we had a System that knows about our eating habits, i.e our likes and dislikes, what we are bored of eating and stuff like that. The best part is, whenever there is a get-together, the System should consider the data of all the people gathered and suggest a restaurant matching everyone's needs!!! (cool research problem huh?? ;-))

anyways, gotta go now.. have to meet friends for dinner. But before that... gotta decide the venue... Any suggestions???
